Welcome/Velkommen Sign Lettering - with Lise Lorentzen - a demonstration

This was a video that I did for the conclusion of a Welcome/Velkommen sign class. I am using JoSonja Acrylic paints by Chroma_Inc., but the color combination will work for oils as well. The dark blue mix is a 2:1 Prussian blue to Burnt Sienna and the black is done with Carbon Black. I am using my medium mix of 1:1:1 of Glaze medium, flow medium and retarder (JoSonja products). The brush that is being used in this video is a #10/0 Sure touch (1350) by JoSonja, but I also like to use the Liner Brush -10/0 – Kingart 9375 series. What is Rosemaling? Rosemaling is the traditional painted decorative folk art from Norway that began in the 1600's. Because of Norway's mountainous terrain and hundreds of valleys, the people of Norway had many dialects, native costume, traditions, ext. Norway also had a wealth of artisan traditions to draw from dating from the Viking era. When decorative painting styles reached Norway in the 1600's, it went into all this different areas and created over 15 different styles of Rosemaling, hence making it one of the most interesting folk arts to learn about and to paint.
