Marcellina Akpojotor is a visual artist using scraps of 'Ankara' fabric to create collages depicting women. Her work takes on a whole new form of sustainable art. Pieces that would ordinarily have taken up spaces in landfills as waste are recycled and given new life by this creative-minded Nigerian woman. The swatches of fabric are pieces of stories which she uses to create works that are replete with diverse emotions. Gist Nigeria is a 30-minute current affairs programme, co-produced by Channels Television and the BBC.
