With the 2022 timetable change, a new transport contract came into effect on the eastern electric network in Schleswig-Holstein. This brings with it several improvements and changes for commuters between Hamburg and Lübeck, and later also to Neustadt. Some changes to the service are planned, but new, state-of-the-art Stadler KISS vehicles are also set to replace the existing double-decker coaches.
