The city center blends well-preserved older architecture with lively student life, anchored by landmarks like the Old Town (Altstadt), the Karl Theodor Bridge, and the University of Heidelberg, one of Germany’s oldest. We started the day exploring the castle, after which we explored the town, visited the bridge and walked along the river.
