Pokémon Masters EX Damage Challenge Psychic 3v3 up to 46.7M Anni Gloria w 5/5 Hilda & 3/5 Sabrina

It’s weird to post two runs in a DC where I’m not even competitive, but I believe this is likely the highest DC run of any type that doesn’t include R96 on the team in some capacity, so worthwhile to post for Gloria’s sake as well as some record keeping. Sorry for this being a slow video, I don’t like to play or post in slow mode, but I realize it saves time on the run and this one it was saving 3-4 seconds and the run wound up needing it! The rolls and random stats drops can be infuriating here! I had a run that would have hit 49M if it had the same final B as this run, but that run didn’t get the booster MPR. Even this run you can see the center and right target damage difference of 1.7M on Sabrina’s B just based on the random drops, so even this run could have easily been ~48.5M. I reset a fair amount for better luck, but playing in slow mode and not even being competitive eventually I just decided enough was enough lol, if I was competing I would’ve rolled better gears too! I enjoyed the progression of figuring out this better run. It started w TY commenting that the previous video could be better (turns out a lot better), and I thought about that a bit, but executed a better version and the rolls left it worse anyway (of course). Then thought about maybe I’m worrying too much about Sabrina’s damage, so I went to trying to get 4 syncs and get the last Hilda B on 6 sync buffs. I had figured out this way of clearing Sabrina’s 9 CD earlier (hadn’t found that path yet day one) so I knew if I could get to there I would have a shot. At first I was having to lose 2 SMUN for Sabrina by using psybeam after the first B quick, which allows Gloria to TM before center acts and save one opponent action. But I was still having issues with not having enough dry moves, I wound up running Hilda’s TM after EXPT was set, but the TM is ungodly slow even without setting terrain, so even when I did that the run needed luck to work. I was trying to find a good spot to fit another Giga Impact in instead, but anywhere I put it made it so the first B move wasn’t at 10PMUN (or wasted a cycle). Then I thought maybe Gloria’s Tera move isn’t too much slower (spoiler alert, it is) and it also drops stats to help Sabrina. I was able to get runs in using the Tera move, but they needed some luck because it is a bit slower than Giga. Then I started quad queuing it on the left target, and when I got a flinch there was plenty of time to do the run. That got me thinking, well maybe I can waste a cycle earlier on in order to let Sabrina keep the MUNs, and get it back with a flinch from Gloria. What I found was even better than I thought, because for some reason the way this one lines up the quad is exceptionally easy, there is some delay for a reason I do not understand (there was no delay when quadding on the left target). But with those changes I had to miss one Giga or have the opponent miss once in order to get the run in. Then came the tedious part, realizing the run works basically every time if I play in slow mode (so boring). The Giga missing wasn’t always bad, just depends on what random drops Sabrina gets (because sometimes defense gets minned anyway and you just waste Sabrina drops), but in general there is more upside to it hitting, so slow mode made sense when resetting for rolls and good stat drops. I guess I may have to use slow mode more in the future, but hopefully not too often, it really only comes into play in spams or circuits that are very tight, plenty of circuits 3-4 seconds won’t really make a difference based on when the final queue is. Anyway, this is a fun DC. I spent more time trying to help on the top runs then messing with my own the last couple days, but glad I came back to my run because honestly that first one was very undercooked. Sorry to have posted a mediocre run, I’ll be more patient in the future! Glad I was able to use the Hilda SE straddle, since I was one of the first people doing that back in the day, it was pretty annoying I wasn’t using it here, and sadly could still only use it once bc if Hilda isn’t syncing first a lot goes wrong (circles dropping, losing MUNs, B moves at low sync buffs, etc.) Gears are still pretty mid, 90 attack, 70 special attack, 17% Hilda (23% on confused targets), 14% Sabrina (20% on confused targets). With good gears and rolls this team is very capable of 50M, but I really need to save my pins for either gym or something I actually compete in! Didn’t do a single LG run today. I did 37 straight solos the first two days (first time doing more than like 6 straight, I’m not an LG person), part of why I was neglecting this because this is such an easy LG rotation. Probably not going to have time to get my goal of 200 with single fighting coming up, but maybe I get lucky and get my fighting run in early! That one will be a lot more straightforward, but going to need MPRs, +1 evasion misses, and high rolls. One more chance at DD5 for Gloria too 🤞
