Photographing the Alabama Hills at Sunrise (Day 1) | Desert Landscape Photography w/ Canon 5DSR | 4K

On my first day at the Alabama Hills high desert, I woke up before dawn to hike to an overlook for sunrise. Hoping to get a clear view of the Mt. Whitney, Lone Pine peak, and all of the other snow capped mountains, I was a bit disappointed to see strong storms rolling in and covering much of the mountains. Somewhere in the back of my mind though, I thought that just maybe some early morning light might creep in underneath the storms and make the mountains and storm clouds glow. I decided to stick around and, despite the strong winds blowing down off the Sierra mountains, set up my 5DSR, and took some photos through golden hour.
