I assumed it was the same thing as those bouncy ball kits but was surprised to discover that it was better than that. The PVA granules have a different composition and have a dense, almost crystalline, texture once hard. The kit itself is also very foolproof and you get enough material to make a lot of characters. It's also easy to clean up (with a vacuum cleaner for dry sand or wait till the wet PVA is dry and peel away) which can't be said for many other kits like Rainbow Jellies.
