The E5 "Hayabusa" Shinkansen (the Japanese term for a bullet train) is one of the newest high-speed electric trains in service in Japan, as well as being one of the most beautiful and distinctive in appearance. The "Hayabusa", or "Falcon", runs from Tokyo up through the northeast end of the island of Honshu, the largest of Japan's four islands, making the 419 mile journey three times a day. The E5 Hayabusa, in addition to being the latest Japanese prototype bullet train, is also the latest N scale Bullet train produced by Kato Japan, and is available now for special order at your local hobby store as both a starter set and a three-car base powered set with two available add-ons.
