Alan Edwards Former Pupil Balby Secondary School for Boys 1947-1951

In the first of two videos Alan recalls fondly his school days at Woodfield Junior and Infant School, and Balby Secondary Modern School for Boys located at Oswin Avenue Doncaster. During the video events and activities remembered include teaching staff, fellow pupils including British Boxing Champion Bruce Woodcock, extra-curricular activities such as sport, the Bulb Show and chess Club matches. As a taster to video 2 which highlights Alan's career, the role of engineering firm Babcock Jenkins in the raising of the Tudor ship the 'Mary Rose' is captured.
