In this episode, you’ll see: Chiatura’s Cable Cars: We test out the legendary "Stalin’s cable cars," which are still a primary mode of transport in this mountain-surrounded town. A real adrenaline rush! Urban Contrasts: A walk through industrial Chiatura, where Soviet architecture meets mountain majesty. You’ll even see cemeteries located right in the courtyards of apartment blocks. Katskhi Pillar: We travel to the impressive limestone monolith where a monastery stands atop the pillar, and visit the nearby convent. The Spirit of the Mines: We stop by active mines, check out massive machinery (monsters from the Ural Heavy Machinery Plant), and see what daily life looks like for the miners. Local Cuisine: We try a spicy shawarma for 12 Lari and share our thoughts on Georgian flavors and prices. The Journey’s End: Our final moments in Georgia, returning the rental car, and the last adventures at Kutaisi airport.
