Since the 1950s, archaeological research has been ongoing at Monticello. Extensive excavations have amassed a body of knowledge that makes Monticello one of the best studied plantations in the world. This coming week's livestreams focus on archaeology. We'll discuss Jefferson’s interest in excavation, the history of archaeology at Monticello, and how archaeology informs our understanding of the enslaved people who lived and labored on this plantation.
