Drone as First Responder (DFR) Scenario Simulation

Watch how the Prosper Police Department’s new Drone as First Responder (DFR) program works in action with a real-time scenario showcasing rapid response, aerial support and public safety innovation. This demonstration highlights how Prosper became the first agency in Texas to launch the Flock Aerodome system, featuring automated drone launches, Detect and Avoid radar, and full integration with Flock911 and license plate reader technology. Designed to improve response times and enhance situational awareness, this program reflects the Town’s commitment to forward-thinking public safety solutions. The video captures how certified drone pilots respond to emergency calls in an average of 86 seconds, offering residents a firsthand look at the next generation of community protection. The Prosper Police Department utilizes public safety drones in two primary functions: patrol-based drone operations and Drone-First-Responders (DFR). This project was funded by grant monies from MVCPA (Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority). MVCPA’s generous grant will help us effectively increase our efforts in the area of auto theft and other related offenses. Learn more at prospertx.gov/crimetech
