This combo formed on Monday and had 4 days to learn, and perform several songs during the concert.

On June 15th, 2025, The New School of Music Austin proudly kicked off its 10th annual Texas Jazz & Blues Camp at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, with support from Henna Chevrolet and the City of Austin’s Cultural Arts Division. Each day, students aged 11 and up immerse themselves in an inspiring week of jazz and blues, learning directly from top professional musicians through instrument-specific classes, theory sessions, small group combos, and masterclasses. The camp culminates in an exciting final concert, where students showcase their new skills for family, friends, and peers. Beyond music, they build confidence, self-awareness, social skills, and strong decision-making abilities — life lessons that resonate far beyond the stage. We believe every aspiring musician deserves this transformative experience, regardless of financial background. That’s why each year, we provide scholarships to up to 50% of our campers, thanks to the generous support of sponsors and community donors. Your contributions help us reach more underserved students in Austin and beyond, empowering the next generation of jazz and blues artists. Please consider making a gift today — or any time throughout the year — to keep this vital program thriving and accessible to all. Thank you for supporting music and the future!
