Batman: The Man-Bats Attack - Audio Book Reading

Inspired by the videos of ScreenBlaster13 and DarthBrooks1985 - and after producing my own video of the cherished Ladybird Batman books The Warhawk and Funhouse of Fear - I decided to produce another video for the third book in the Ladybird Batman series. Batman: The Man-Bats Attack was a Ladybird book written by Constance V Hatch and illustrated by Walter Howarth. In this adventure, the formula that turned Dr. Kirk Langstrom into the original, terrifying Man-Bat has fallen into the hands of Gotham's criminal underworld. A metahuman crimewave has started, one that even Batman may not be able to stop. This Ladybird book was different from previous entries in the series. Fascinating for exploring the legacy of one of Batman's more underutilized rogues, and presenting a true physical threat for Batman where he was outmatched, and forced him to rely on his wits yet again to stop the crisis. Constance again did a great job of writing these stories in a fashion that was suitable for children. However, unlike Funhouse of Fear and The Warhawk, I haven't been able to find an audio cassette or audio file of any kind featuring a reading of this story. So I decided to read it myself, using sound-effects from freesound.org and the wonders of Cubase and Adobe Photoshop to put this video together. I hope you like it. Enjoy! D.C.
