WEF 2026: Ricardo Hausmann says Venezuela's recovery will not happen without basic rights
On January 22, 2026, Ricardo Hausmann participated in the panel, "Venezuela: What's Next?" at the World Economic Forum. In this clip, Prof. Hausmann says that despite efforts to invest in oil production, economic recovery in Venezuela will not happen until people's basic rights are restored. He believes the key to the economic recovery is the return of the 8 million Venezuelans who fled the country, and right now, it's not the time for them to return. https://www.weforum.org/meetings/worl...
