NSW XPT Train - Melbourne to Sydney First Class "Daysitter" My exploration into the trains of Australia continues in this video. This service has been operating since 1982. The journey normally take just a little over 11 hours to cover 16 stops. But due to track works in Victoria, the train was running slower than normal and by the time we reached Sydney, close to 12 hours had elapsed. That's a long voyage. Nevertheless, I had thankfully booked myself and hubby into the Daysitter sleeper cabin which made the journey slightly comfortable.
