Ads Are Getting Worse. Here's How I Stopped Them

Sick of watching ads? Here are a few things you can do about it. Ads are everywhere, from trash cans to the screens on airlines so I decided to do something about it. They have crept into every space that hasn't actively opposed them, and it's reached a breaking point. Many people, such as myself, are pushing back on ads, distancing themselves, or quitting social media altogether. I find myself in this situation, where social media, the space that promised connection and engagement, is now swallowed in ads, making it almost unusable. Not only has truth become irrelevant in the news and on social media, but so has your privacy. Advertisers are creeping deeper and deeper into our bedrooms to find out how they can sell to us, and honestly, it's disturbing. Even fridges display ads, along with our car screens.
