Ogoh-Ogoh Tabanan Caka 1948 – Nyepi 2026 The night of Pengerupukan in Tabanan was once again filled with the spirit of creativity and togetherness among Bali's young generation. The ogoh-ogoh, created by the youth of the banjar (village), symbolize Bhuta Kala, depicting the negative traits within humans that must be purified before Nyepi Day. With exquisite detail, dynamic movements, and the accompaniment of baleganjur music that echoed throughout the village, the ogoh-ogoh were paraded around the grounds before finally being interpreted as a process of cleansing the universe and humanity from negative energies. This tradition is not just an artistic performance, but also a manifestation of cultural preservation, mutual cooperation, and spirituality of the Balinese people in preparation for Caka 1948. Tabanan once again demonstrates that Balinese culture remains alive, thriving, and passed down from generation to generation.
