The Ultimate French Alps Ride: Conquering Col de la Colombière and Col des Aravis
Welcome to our epic cycling tour through the beautiful French Alps! This route takes us through some of the most stunning and challenging terrain in the northern Alps, near Chamonix, Megeve, and Combloux. If you are considering riding the Marmotte Granfondo check our digital library https://www.breathebike.com/eguides Our journey includes climbs up the Col de la Colombiere and the Col des Aravis, two classic Tour de France alpine passes that are sure to test even the most experienced riders. Along the way, we'll pass through charming towns like Sallanches, Les Grand Bornands, La Clusaz, and Megeve. Whether you're a seasoned pro or new to cycling in the Alps, this 100km loop with nearly 2000m of climbing is a must-do. With a good pace, it should take about 4 hours to complete, but feel free to take it at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. Join us as we tackle the Colombiere Aravis loop in the beautiful French Alps! The Col des Aravis is much more gentle at a 2nd catergory and for me the Aravis is possibly the most stunning climb in the French Alps. The Col de la Colombiere loop features in Stage 1 of the Haute Route Alps 2023 with the addition of the Col de Romme. If you wish to challenge yourself further you can add the Col de la Croix Fry into the loop and the stunning Col des Annes • Col des Annes | Cycling Climb Motivation |... and even the Col de Romme can also be included • Col de Romme | Motivation to ride | Famous... . If you like road cycling in the mountains and cycling in the French Alps then today we feature the Col de la Colombiere Col des Aravis loop tackling the climbs in a anti-clockwise direction.
