Festival Diagonales d’été 20th edition (ENSEMBLE ORGANUM) Vocal workshop : Hildegarde de Bingen Direction Marcel Pérès July 29th to 2nd of August 2020 MOISSAC Saint, visionary, healer, composer, everything seems to have been said about Hildegard of Bingen, yet, much remains to be discovered about this woman, her writings and her music. Moreover, on October 7, 2012, she was proclaimed Doctor of the Church, which profoundly changed the approach that could be taken of her work. Before, she appeared as a somewhat odd character, especially since her music and her writings on medicine had aroused a strong interest in the circles inscribed in the «New Age» mobility. Today the situation is very different; because her life, her knowledge and… her music is to be regarded as a fundamental teaching in the knowledge of what the Church has to transmit. It took nine centuries for Hildegard to reveal all the power of his teaching. This woman of the twelfth century has something very important to pass on to humanity of today.
