CEBRAnar #37 - From risk to impact: CEBRA's 20-year contribution to biosecurity
July 2026 marks the 20-year anniversary of CEBRA. To celebrate, this special CEBRAnar will showcase the impact of CEBRA’s work over the past two decades and look ahead to what’s next for biosecurity. You’ll hear from a range of CEBRA experts on how biosecurity has evolved, the most pressing challenges facing the system today, and where future opportunities lie. Originally established in 2006 as the Australian Centre of Excellence for Risk Analysis (ACERA), the program became CEBRA in 2013, reflecting a sharper focus and an expanded partnership to include New Zealand. From the outset, CEBRA has focused on bringing scientific rigour to how we understand and manage biosecurity risk. Over time, this has expanded to span the full biosecurity continuum, bringing together global expertise to tackle real-world challenges and deliver practical outcomes. Today, CEBRA is a globally respected program, known not just for responding to risk, but actively shaping how risk is understood and managed in an increasingly complex global environment. ────────── Subscribe to learn more about biosecurity and the work we do.
