Rock solid encoders with Hardware Debounce - Anything Arduino Ep30
In this tutorial I revisit the Rotary Encoder and the Multimedia controller I built in episode 26. The reliability of the rotary encoder wasnt as good as I wanted. And therefor in this episode I add a hardware debounce. Using a CD40106 or a 74HC14 hex schmidt inverter. This really tightens up the encoders reliability and it is after this little modification "rock solid" :) No change was needed to be made to the code. This can be done to any button that you really want to have full control over and with very little jitter and noise coming to the arduino pin.
