Purpose in Heart | Daniel - Lesson 1

Pastor James Knox begins our summer 2021 study through the Holy Bible with a verse-by-verse and chapter-by-chapter examination of the Book of Daniel. Beginning in Chapter 1 Brother James focuses on a small phrase which appears in verse 8, “...Daniel purposed in his heart...”. From this starting point in the message the Christian is challenged to “purpose in his heart” to live the deliberate Christian life wherever he finds himself and regardless of the circumstances in which he finds himself. Taken captive by a pagan people and held prisoner in a land of idol worshippers, Daniel firmly set his heart to worship and serve the true and living God even though he was far from his holy city of Jerusalem and far from the Jewish temple, God's ordained place of worship for the Jew. Are Christians today as firmly set in their heart to unashamedly worship God when they are surrounded by the unsaved be they family, friends, or coworkers? Or do Christians compromise and behave like the world when they are away from the church house?
