Everything I talk about is summarized here: M1- Studying the Handbook: Cost: $15.99 “The Official MTO Motorcycle Handbook - New & Updated!” – 2018 Version Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.ca/Official-MTO-Mo... **Tip: You can cut this cost by buying a used version or by going to the library M1- License/ Written Test: Cost: $14.95 plus tax Completed at a Service Ontario Office-with a Ministry of Transportation. One of many locations in Toronto: Yonge and College (College Park) **Tip: Go at off peak times! M2- Motorcycle Safety Course Cost: $563.87 (all In) 2018 summer price ★Motorsoul Riding School ★Link: https://www.motorsoul.ca/ Schedule: Thursday night Indoor Evening Class AND a Saturday & Sunday Outside Course You need to bring your own gear for the course. Specifically: A helmet, gloves, jacket, appropriate footwear and pants. **Tip: Downtown Toronto, by the Exhibition/ BMO Field- Very easy to get to! Gear: Cost: $472.34 (all in) Helmet & Gloves Store: Town Moto Location: 132 Ossington Ave, Toronto ON M6J 2Z6 Cost: $0 Jacket (Leather/ Riding Jacket) Cost: $0 Boots Cost: $0 Jeans **Tip: Stay humble on pricing if you are getting your gear for the first time to do the Safety Course. Because when you do the course you will know %100 if it is indeed a passion you want to pursue. Bike: Cost: $5,999 plus tax Mandatory Misc Fees: (PDI) Pre-Delivery Inspection: $205 plus tax (The price of performing a maintenance check of a vehicle when it first arrives at a dealership) Freight: $295 plus tax (shipping the bike to the store) Admin: $99 plus tax (money spent on processing and documentation) Enviro: $9.25 plus tax (environmental fee) OMVIC: $10 plus tax (fee for every retail sale of the dealership- While dealers must remit a $10 transaction fee per vehicle, passing the fee on to customers is optional, not mandatory. OMVIC does not anticipate customers will refuse to pay the $10.) And buying from a dealership/Powersports can allow for them to lower the bike and assist with any adjustments needed. But you must obey the street signs. I received a lower price on my underground parking because they gave me a smaller spot.
