(1) In the gold market, there is a difference of several tens of times between the amount of gold inventory held by custodians (gold depositary offices) and the amount of paper gold (gold securities in futures and gold ETFs) linked to that gold (LBMA in London and COMEX in New York). 👉Assuming a gold inventory of 1,000 tons, 30 times that amount, or 30,000 tons, of unresolved gold futures and gold ETFs are issued, and these are traded as paper gold in the US and Europe. (2) Since 2010, more than 1,000 tons of physical gold have moved from the US and Europe to Asia (China SGE and Hong Kong gold exchanges) every year. The cumulative total will reach 20,000 tons. This is a massive movement of gold. (3) China's SGE banned gold futures and gold-gold ETFs without gold reserves in June 2026. The goal is to concentrate the world's physical gold in China.
