SEAT 600 de 1957 | Coches CLÁSICOS | Review en ESPAÑOL 🇪🇸 | La Pelotilla HISTORIA | #classiccars

What model of SEAT 600 did your family own? My grandfather owned a 600 Convertible, known locally as the "600 for the impatient," since, due to the 5,000 pesetas extra it cost, there wasn't such a long waiting list to get one. Send me photos of the cars you drive and I'll post them in future videos. On June 27, 1957, Seat launched a small utility vehicle that marked the development of Spain during the dictatorship, allowing many people the freedom to forgo public transport at their own pace or finally abandon microcars like the Biscuter. It was known locally as El Pelotilla (The Ball) or Garbancito (Little Garbancito) because it measured 3.34 meters long. On August 3, 1973, the last Seat 600 rolled off the Seat factory in Barcelona. It cost 65,000 pesetas, about €390, and was equivalent to three and a half years' salary for an average family. The Seat 600 Commercial Vehicle could be purchased for 64,000 pesetas, and the Seat 600 Convertible for 70,000. Demand was so high that the brand soon had to increase its workforce to fulfill its orders, as there was a waiting list of up to two years. The first versions were equipped with suicide doors, which people soon popularized on the 600 as the "look-pants" (panties-watchers), since their opening wasn't very compatible with skirts at the time. I hope you like this video. As I said, I don't think there's a classic car enthusiast who doesn't love the Seat 600. Leave me a comment: What was the 600 like in your family? I'd love to read your stories.
