Pulau Buton - Unique Tribes & Treasures (Sulawesi Tenggara, Indonesia)

In this episode my Sabang to Merauke solo touring adventure leads me to the enchanting Buton Island, nestled in the heart of South East Sulawesi. To explore the Unique tribes and hidden Treasures of Pulau Buton. I start the episode from Kendari, the capital of South East Sulawesi, trying the local delicacy, Sinonggi and I then continue the journey to the famous Buton Island from Amalengo port. But the 200 kilometers journey to Baubau is not easy.. Heavy weather and rain is against me, but the real magic begins once i arrive in Baubau and I delve deeper into the island's unique treasures. Accompanied by my knowledgeable guide Mario, I embark on an exploration of Buton's hidden gems. Journey with us to Boneatiro Village, where we meet Ditra, a remarkable individual with Waardenburg syndrome. We explore her village, delve into her family's story, and witness the resilience and warmth of her community. Our adventure continues as we uncover the rich history of the Buton Sultanate Palace, delving into the city's past before setting out to learn about the vibrant culture of the Cia Cia tribe in Rongi Village. From their traditional way of life to the breathtaking vistas from the hilltops, this area surprises me in everyway! But the adventure in Pulau Buton and Sulawesi Tenggara doesn't end there!
