Creating a handmade vintage inspired wardrobe.

Do you already dress in vintage style? Maybe you’re considering dipping your toes in to add some vintage inspired garments to your wardrobe. Or you simply enjoy looking at vintage inspired style but it’s not what you want to wear. In this video I’m chatting with you about my vintage style choices for my hand sewn wardrobe and offering some of my tips for creating your own. I’ve always worn vintage inspired style from different eras over the years. I’ve never felt drawn to following the latest fashions, always preferring to create a look that feels like me. I grew up with aunts who gifted me some of their 1950’s clothes, I raided my mum’s wardrobe for 1960’s pieces, watched endless old movies, was always reading and living in other worlds and loved searching flea markets and jumble sales for pieces I could wear. No wonder when I started sewing at 16 I thought yes, now I can really make what I want to wear. Dressmaking gives you the power to create those vintage fantasy pieces you dream of wearing. You can be your unique self.
