UNHCR’s Emergency Response
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, UNHCR and partners have supported over 2,200 war-damaged communal facilities across Ukraine 🇺🇦 - helping essential services continue after Russian attacks. Administrative service centres, hospitals, schools, kindergartens and social service facilities received emergency shelter materials for rapid temporary repairs, often within 48 hours. These immediate interventions help communities maintain access to healthcare, documentation, education and critical social support when they need it most. Alongside support to public infrastructure, UNHCR has also helped nearly 600,000 people with emergency shelter materials to repair damaged homes and stay safely in their communities despite ongoing attacks and harsh weather conditions.
