Renowned civil rights lawyer Sherrilyn Ifill joins visionary filmmaker Sir John Akomfrah for a powerful conversation on how film can reckon with the past while reshaping today’s cultural landscape. Sherrilyn Ifill is the Founding Director of the 14th Amendment Center for Law & Democracy at the Howard University School of Law. Previously, she served as the President and Director-Counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Co-Founder of the influential Black Audio Film Collective, Sir John Akomfrah is a leading voice in contemporary film. His work has been shown in museums and exhibitions around the world, and his films have garnered multiple awards. In 2024, he received widespread acclaim for his thought-provoking and visually stunning work at the Venice Biennale, where he represented the United Kingdom.
