OXFORD IN THE 1980s
In the 1980s the English photographer Roger George Clark embarked on a series of major photo essays. 'One of my subjects,' he says, ' was the city of Oxford, renowned worldwide for it's university. My object was to capture the life of the city - it's buildings, people going about their business, and snatches of university life. You can see undergraduates deep in thought, enjoying themselves on the river and celebrating after their final exams. Also, ordinary people at work who keep the city going. I paid many visits to Oxford over a number of years and took thousands of photos. I wonder what happened to all the people I captured on film? You can see more of my photos here on YouTube.
