Hunt with Waorani Tribe in the Ecuadorian Amazon
Welcome to the 4th episode of travel show «The World Inside Out»! Our team sets out on a dangerous and long journey through the Ecuadorian Amazonia to find one of the most dangerous tribes – Huaorani or Waorani. Ukrainian TV host Dmitry Komarov continues to explore the traditions and rituals of the Waorani tribe of Indigenous living in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Nowadays many tribes get used to modern civilization. They wear modern clothes and use a router. But still they prefer to get food the same way they did hundreds of years ago - in the jungle. The wild forest for Indigenous is home to everything. They learned how to make medicine and weapons from plants. Since ancient times tribes had knowledge to prepare deadly poisons and still use dangerous substances in everyday life. In this episode, Dmitry Komarov by his own eyes saw how Waoranians hunt and get food, catch fish. Exclusively he tasted the deadly curare poison, which tribe men use to kill animals on the hunt. At the end of the day, they had a delicious tribal dinner with specific main dish and tasted a special yucca kissel. Timestamps: *** 00:00 Preparation for the hunt. They manage to go to places where a man has never set a foot and discover countries. Dmytro himself creates the route, learns the features of the new place in advance and tries to survive on his own in the practical primitive conditions. But the real thing is that he is actually trying to get used to the role of the natives, not just like a stranger but as part of the team, actively trying new crafts and ways of getting food, learning the local traditions and laws. Dmytro and Oleksandr have visited more than 20 countries, and without a doubt these were not passing journeys but thorough cultural studies. #Ecuador #worldinsideout #Huaorani
