It was on a hot weekday in 2014. I travelled to Ijebu Igbo for the first time from my Ibadan base to meet and interview Y.K. Ajadi who I barely heard of as at then. Y.K was a Wizkid among Apala greats especially the Apala Ijebu genre. YK passed on about 5 or 4 years later, and he remains the most straightforward and bluntest artist I have ever spoken to. This interview revealed our great artists have weaknesses too, after all, they are humans. May God rest his soul. Amen.
