POST MORTEM I gave a penny for a thought to have my actions speak louder than words. I barked up the wrong tree, and went back to the drawing board, wishing not to add insult to injury. Sometimes, I beat around the bush, and hoped to get the best of both worlds; yet bit off more than I could chew. I got caught between two stools, trying not to judge a book by its cover when things were a blessing in disguise. But post mortem, none of it will matter. Life cost me an arm and a leg, but I didn’t cry over spilt milk, and crossed bridges when I got there without cutting corners. I was the devil's advocate, sometimes. Surely, I put all my eggs in one basket, so, when I heard it on the grapevine, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I did not always hit the nail on the head, or in the heat of the moment, kill two birds with one stone. But post mortem, none of it will matter. Every cloud did have a silver lining. Although I didn’t play with a full deck, there was a method to my madness, except once in a blue moon. My pictures did paint a thousand words, without putting wool over anyone’s eyes. I sat on the fence, spoke of the devil, took it with a grain of salt, and stole a few thunders. But post mortem, none of it will matter. Now, let’s make a long story short. I will be caught dead, seeing eye to eye, as my guess was never as good as yours, but only time will tell, because post mortem, all of this and more, will not matter.
