The Viral "Dot Cakes" Are The Dumbest Trend Yet

#dotcakes #overconsumption #consumerism “Dot Cakes” are the latest viral trend that chronic overconsumers are going crazy over. They’re these tiny cakes in a cup with sprinkles that are being sold at The Butterfield Market in NYC and The Dot Cakes Bakery in Long Island. There are lines wrapping around the Upper East Side (where the Butterfield Market is) and Roslyn, Long Island (where the Dot Cakes Bakery is), with people waiting hours in the heat to get their hands on them. Mexicans are calling the cakes out, saying they’re just gentrified cortadillos/pan dulce pink cakes which are sold at Mexican panaderias. This is yet another saga in the “I have no personality of my own therefore I will run to go buy whatever is viRaL on TikTok” epidemic. Sources + Further Reading What Are People Waiting In Line For?
