STRONG CURRENTS ⚠️ Please be cautious, watch for boats, and stay near the jetty rocks. I recommend wearing a life jacket or a snorkeling vest. The jetties in Panama City Beach at St. Andres State Park are easily accessible from the beach and there is a vast amount of sea life which includes many Caribbean species not seen in other areas of the Florida NW Gulf Coast. Water clarity can be clear depending on the tides and weather, but even when the water is a bit murky the shallow water and vast sea life will still produce a great snorkel experience. There is a portion of the jetty that extends inward toward the bay (referred to as the cove or kiddie pool) and is relatively shallow so the potential of spotting sea life is greater and you can also easily cross the jetty in some spots to look on the deeper channel side. In this area, there are also sections of small jetties laid out end to end to explore that are close to the beach.
