The Lotus Grill is the most famous of the fan-assisted grills, but not the only one (for example, I use a Florabest fan-assisted grill sold on sale at LIDL). In this user guide (or, if you prefer, this review), I'll show you from start to finish how to prepare a barbecue with this type of patio grill (sold with the claim of smokeless grilling). We'll cover the operating principle, types of charcoal (and how to make your own), lighting methods (for minimal smoke), essential accessories (lid or hood), tricks for grilling in the wind, and finally how to clean each grill component after use. Note: In this guide, I always refer to the standard grill size (around 34-35 cm). I find the new, smaller Lotus too small, and the larger versions more inconvenient to clean (in that case, given the size and cost, I find a traditional grill with a lid more versatile). Enjoy!
