I Finally Got My Rivian R2 | Delivery Day Setup

Rivian R2 delivery day is finally here! After owning two Rivian R1Ts, I traded my Gen 2 R1T Tri Max for a brand-new R2. In this video, I take delivery of my low-VIN Rivian R2, walk through the exterior and interior, complete the initial vehicle setup, explore the new display and steering-wheel controls, test launch mode, inspect the cameras, and share my first impressions of Rivian’s more affordable SUV. I also explain why I decided to trade my R1T Tri Max after putting approximately 46,000 miles on it. My R1T was getting close to the end of its mileage-based warranty coverage, and continuing to add thousands of business miles could have meant expensive out-of-warranty repairs and additional depreciation. The R2 gives me approximately the same usable range in a smaller, more efficient, and less expensive vehicle. It may not have every feature found in the R1 platform, but it still feels like a Rivian and makes much more sense for the amount of driving I do. This is my third Rivian delivery, and the experience was noticeably different from my previous R1 deliveries. I discuss the paperwork process, the delayed delivery, the relatively quick handoff, and some of the things I noticed during my first few minutes with the vehicle.
