From Yellowstone and the Tetons, we pushed west into the Lemhi Range, climbing nearly 9,000 feet to a hidden alpine lake before continuing on into the rugged Lost River Range — home to Idaho’s tallest peaks. Along the way we crossed boggy trails, rocky climbs, and narrow descents, camped beside mountain creeks, and found the solitude we were searching for.
