It can be replaced by a break taken in two periods during the 24 hours, the first being of at least 3 uninterrupted hours and the second of at least 9 uninterrupted hours. The daily rest time may be reduced to 9 consecutive hours three times between two weekly rest periods. ► WEEKLY REST After 6 consecutive periods of 24 hours (144 hours), a weekly rest of 45 consecutive hours will be taken (normal weekly rest). This period can be shortened up to 24 hours (reduced weekly rest). Every two consecutive weeks, each driver must have at least a 45-hour break and another of at least 24 hours. The shortened weekly tachograph breaks will need to be made up before the end of the following third week and should be taken in conjunction with another rest period of at least 9 hours. Normal weekly breaks may not be taken in the truck. ► REST IN TEAM DRIVING - DOUBLE CREW In the case of trucks or buses with two drivers every 30 hours, each driver must have enjoyed a break of 9 consecutive hours with the truck or bus stopped. The daily rest may be carried out in the vehicle as long as it is adequately equipped for the rest of each of the drivers and is parked.
