GRAND THEFT AUTO IV FOR PLAYSTATION 3 (UNBOXING)
I’ve read about GTA 4 in 2008 and 2009 but couldn’t play it since I didn’t have a proper console back then. I had to wait until 2010 to play it on PC. It was quite a challenge since my PC wasn’t 💯 ready for this game. Nevertheless I’ve completed it more than once since then and it’s still very good. In terms of physics, interactivity, beauty and uniqueness of the world the game feels quite good even today. It was an unusual experience to see Liberty City bigger and more detailed than in 3 (and when I first heard Vladivostok FM and walked in Hove Beach I was amazed and speechless). Not to mention the attention to details (in that case and the realism of physics 4 is even better than 5). It was the first time when in GTA I didn’t want to start rampage, but to be as normal as possible. Moreover, the game gives the opportunity to make friends, find girlfriend (that you could do in SA) and have a fun time with BOWLING, Pul, Darts, drinking (which is done a lot better than in 5), strip club that was nicely upgraded, cabaret of stand up of Cat Williams and Ricky Gervais (that’s where I first heard and saw him). And your friendship progresses with bonuses. There’s also an Internet, which was mind-blowing, and a mobile phone, both you can use as they should be used (pity you can’t listen to music on the phone. I hope GTA 6 will have this feature). So, there were way to have fun, although the general tone has become more grey and serious, which I liked at first, but now I think that the game has lost its mega fun aspect. Again, there are funny characters like Little Jacob or Brucie, but they don’t feel the same way like characters from VC and SA, and the story actually manages to be serious in a good way with the first third of the game until Dimitri betrays Niko. And the character of Niko does look and feel unusual compared to previous protagonists. But there’s a problem. After betrayal the game switches attention to many other characters that are not that interesting and forgettable and Niko still does dirty job for money, except the guys who can help him with personal vendetta. Though the ending when Roman dies feels a lot more engaging and memorable. And the choice system surprises at first but can’t help but feel that it wasn’t necessary. Also, the game is as long as SA, but missions feel generic and repetitive (with some exceptions like test drive). In general, I still like the game, it’s still great, but the departure from total fun vibe of the previous games feels not quite elegant. 5 managed to get it back, but it’s a completely different story. And yes, I have a copy without a map, so I bought it separately. #gta, #grandtheftauto, #collection, #ps3, #playstation, #videogames, #games, #videogamecollecting, #unboxing, #sony, #rockstargames
