Setúbal lies at the mouth of the river Sado, across the river on the south bank you'll find the Tróia Peninsula, a place with vast and stunning white sand beaches. Today, Setúbal is at the heart of the Portuguese fishing industry and is famed for its sweet and globally acclaimed moscatel wine. Its pedestrian streets, fountains and gardens lend it a certain grace, while its port give Setúbal the feel of a still thriving historic city. Setúbal is also the birthplace of the famous football [soccer] manager José Mourinho.
