I traveled to Xiamen, China, to meet with Peter Xu, the founder of Xiamen Carbonspeed (XMCS). In this factory tour, we visit four key locations—from R&D offices to specialized hub, rim, and frame factories—to see how their engineering-first approach sets them apart. Peter’s philosophy is built on transparency and reliability. From monocoque-only frame construction to hub shells that survive 200,000+ cycle ISO tests, we dive deep into the details that matter for your next build. In this video: The 2026 Race Frames: A first look at the Racing Frameset called "Eruptor" in the video (name subject to change until final release). These are built using monocoque construction for superior strength, featuring "internal wall" technology for massive stiffness and solid carbon seat stays on the Eruptor. In-House Hub Production: XMCS develops and produces their hubs completely in-house. We look at the new Archer Light series and the specialized titanium freehub options. Testing: We witness ISO-standard testing, including a pull test where a steel spoke snaps at 3400N while the carbon rim remains perfectly intact.
