Alexander Scriabin: Preludes, Op.39 (Chitose Okashiro)

Chitose Okashiro is a Japaneese piano-composer acclaimed for her large repertoire. She has recorded all Scriabin Etudes, and even transcribed (w/ Léon Conus) Scriabin's Poem of Ecstacy for two pianos. This set of preludes is characterised by Scriabin's middle period. Chords of higher extensions and harsher dissonaces are found more frequently yet are still resolved in line with convention. This prelude set is also characterised by Scriabins pervasive use of counterpoint, specifically the 4th and final prelude, which features imitation between the two hands (not unlike the Op.35 prelude set, in which its 2nd piece features a similar gimmick). All preludes in this set are written in the major mode. 1. F sharp major 00:01 2. D major 00:43 3. G major 01:57 4. A flat major 03:44
