Bob Havens, Jazz Trombone: "Jazz Me Blues" - Great Jazz from Welk's Dixieland Band in 1965
From the Lawrence Welk Show, November 27, 1965. Despite his program's normally "soft" approach, he actually had a very good set of jazz musicians. On the top of that list (for me, anyway), was the great Bob Havens. He came from a background of playing with the likes of Al Hirt and Pete Fountain, and he did not leave his skills behind when he joined Welk.
