Come with me as I go fossicking for sapphires and gems for the very first time at Bullock Mountain Homestead just outside of Glen Innes in the New England high country of NSW, Australia. New South Wales has various mineral rich regions, and the New England region is renowned as happy hunting grounds for it's gemstones, in particular the quality and clarity of it's sapphires. Even though I'm a first-timer, I thought I'd include some fossicking tips for you that we found helpful.
