The new terminal of Craiova International Airport is increasing the number of passengers. Compared to the same period last year, in the first three months of 2026 there were almost 90% more passengers. For the flight to Barcelona, ​​resumed after two years, there is very high demand, and airport representatives are in negotiations for new destinations in Italy and Spain. Passengers, from Oltenia and beyond, say that they prefer the airport in Craiova for the conditions offered by the new terminal, but also because there are more destinations. The number of passengers has increased from month to month, after the inauguration of the new terminal. 800,000 is the target for 2026, and for 2027 the airport representatives want to exceed the threshold of one million passengers. On May 23, the flight to Venice will be inaugurated, and the airport management is negotiating new destinations in Italy and Spain, cities where there are large Romanian communities.
