HMS ARK ROYAL - A British classic aircraft carrier in later years
The name Ark Royal has graced several famous Royal Navy ships, most notably the Tudor galleon that fought the Spanish Armada and later British aircraft carriers, including the World War II carrier sunk in 1941 after a famous life battling U-boats and searching for the Bismarck, and the last carrier of the Invincible-class, retired in 2011, continuing a legacy of naval innovation and service. My father served on HMS EAGLE, so I got to walk the deck of Ark Royal during NAVY DAYS. Comments from those who served on either appreciated! #royalnavy #arkroyal #famousships
