First-Ever TR-8s Only Live Set in Belgium: 1.5-Hour Festival Techno Mix 128-138 BPM | Learn & Listen

I’m thrilled to share my first-ever live set video from the #BadFestival in Charleroi, Belgium. This performance marks a series of firsts for me: my first festival, my first public live set, and the first time playing exclusively with my Roland TR-8s. It was the perfect setting to test out this new approach, and I couldn’t have asked for a better audience. I was initially unsure if the crowd would enjoy a live techno DJ set composed solely of TR-8s sounds, but they absolutely loved it! A big shoutout to my brother Jeremy and his friends, who have supported me from the beginning and brought incredible energy to the event. The Charleroi crowd was amazing—fun, chill, and ready to dance. What was supposed to be a one-hour live techno set extended to 1.5 hours because we were all having such a great time. In this set, I tried to condense my usual 3.5-hour livestream experience into 1.5 hours. You’ll notice some familiar parts and gimmicks that I often use in my streams. Starting at 128 BPM and gradually increasing to 138 BPM, I meticulously planned the BPM shifts for each new track. Despite the structured BPM changes, everything beyond the intro was improvised. I know my samples and secret steps (which won’t be so secret once you watch the video) quite well. For those interested in TR-8s tips and tricks: all the samples used are original to the TR-8s. I didn’t add external samples or effects—everything is raw and straight from the Roland. While I plan to experiment with new samples in the future, I wanted to prove that you can create a full live techno set using only the original TR-8s sounds.
