Incidentally, seized control arms on the Matiz are not uncommon; they're common on almost any car over five years old. The requirements for this task are very simple: remove a rusted Matiz ball joint without damaging the subframe or the embedded fastener, do it quickly, and without using an open flame. Method 1 Attempt to remove the ball joint by displacing the bushing relative to the bolt with hammer blows through a spacer (impact head), gradually loosening the ball joint bolt with penetrating lubricant. It's important to note that the bushing must rest against the subframe. For reliability, you can tighten the embedded nut that secures the Matiz ball joint to the subframe to prevent it from breaking off. This method is simple, but it doesn't work in complex cases. Method 2 Attempt to replace the Matiz ball joint by drilling out the ball joint bolt lengthwise requires good equipment, a compact drill, and high-quality metal drill bits with a diameter of 9.4-9.8 mm. The bolt is drilled out from the head side, broken off at the junction of the bolt body and thread, and the remaining thread is removed with pliers. You can replace the Matiz ball joint this way in the garage, provided you have the desire and the skills to drill metal. A variation of this method is to drill the bolt at an angle with a thin drill bit to penetrate the joint and apply a good penetrating lubricant.
